Event details

FABER, Timisoara

Are you a student in Timișoara and you have a project or an idea that could change the city? Apply to the Young Matters open call!

We encourage you to apply with creative, innovative ideas that could propose solutions to problems in the community, neighborhood or city. You have the freedom to explore local themes, connected to European or global ones, such as climate change, artificial intelligence, political systems and social mechanisms. Complete the form by September 8th, and we’ll get back with an answer by September 15th: https://bit.ly/young-matters

Whether your project is at the idea stage or already implemented, show it to us! You have the chance to participate in an interdisciplinary experience, where you will be able to put your project on its feet, under the guidance of 4 international tutors and collaborating with colleagues from all faculties: arts, architecture, automation and computers or chemistry, biology, etc.

The selected students will participate in a one-day Ideathon on September 24, during which, guided by international tutors, they will form multidisciplinary teams to develop their projects: through brainstorming sessions, practical work and mentoring with the help of tutors.

Each team will present the result of the Ideathon to a jury that will select 4 teams that will participate in the Young Matters summer school courses, where for a week, they will complete their projects, so that they can be exhibited in the Woven Secrets exhibition at FABER, opening on October 3.

The exhibition will also open with a conference, during which a space will be allocated for student presentations and guided tours of the resulting artefacts.

The program does not stop here, so the participants will participate in a dialogue with local stakeholders (entrepreneurs, public administration, investors), where they will be able to receive feedback on the developed projects and discuss the problems they will solve and the economic and social development scenarios of the city.

Even if your project is not selected for the Young Matters Summer School, all ideas participating in the program will be presented online and in hardcopy format.
