On November 26, from 7 p.m., we have the pleasure of inviting you to FABER, to discover the second concert of the Soldier’s Story tour, inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s composition of the same name. ?
? The soldier’s story is a fascinating foray into a fairy tale world, which, however, reflects the reality of the times we live in, appealing to one of the strongest dichotomies in human history. We are talking, more precisely, about the struggle between the desire for material gain and fame and living a peaceful life in harmony with nature that brings genuine joys.
Composed during ⚔️? the first world war, this work emphasizes the devastating consequences of war and the loss of existential meaning, which tries us in the darkest moments. Stravinsky wrote this work while in Switzerland with his friend, the prose writer Charles Ramuz, who also created a Faustian tale to match his composition.
? Composition:
Violeta Oșorhean – Violin I
Andrei Valeanu – Clarinet
Șaga Radu – Bassoon
Candrianu Andrei – Trumpet
Bogdan Dijmărescu – Trombone
Szekeres Ferencz – Percussion
Sánta Csaba – Double bass
Narrator: Boris Gaza
Conductor: Zaharia Radu
Entrance to the concert is free.
? Between November 26 – 30, the Soldier’s Story tour will take place in Timișoara, Dumbrăvița, Reșița, Sibiu, Arad.
