FABER, Timisoara

?? ??? ?? (???? ???????) is a photography project made by young people who, accompanied by professional photographers, portray both young and old people, and explore together what it means to be 17 years old.
A visual testament and source of inspiration for the project, Dutch director and photographer Johan van der Keuken’s series of portrait photographs We are 17 (1955) documents the experiences of young people, capturing a complex picture of European society in the 1950s.

Now, almost seven decades after the publication of the We are 17 series, the cultural creation and transmission project We are 17 (21st century) establishes links between young people, photographers, cultural mediators and adults from different corners of Europe.
During the two We are 17 workshops coordinated by photographers Lorena Dumitrașcu and Melissa Ivana between February and May, we aimed to create the collective portraits of the two generations, free from stereotypes, but also to value each person separately, and to pay attention to his features and way of being.
The ?? ??? ?? ?????????? ??????????? ?????????? presents a selection of portraits made by the participants of the two workshops.
