How does a piece of earth become an object we use every day?
October 25, 11:00–12:30
12 participants, aged 13–15.
Starting from the Chemical Bonds exhibition, we will look at the world of ceramics through the lens of industry — from raw material extraction to the fine powder that becomes clay, then object, glaze, and final form.
Behind every vessel, tile, or fragment lie natural forces, technologies, industrial kilns, and an entire network of transformations that connect the earth to material culture.
Together, we will discover how ceramics preserve traces of these processes — layers of labor, history, and temperature — and how each stage carries within it a story about place, resources, and energy.
In the practical part, participants will work on unglazed ceramic tiles, printing images from the exhibition’s archive: photographs from factories, excavation sites, and industrial landscapes.
In this way, we will approach ceramics as a space of observation — a place where matter, labor, and time meet to become visible memory.
