Æther is a wall lamp, the result of a collaboration between Blandet, Hamilton Central Europe, and FABER. Inspired by the precision engineering used in pharmaceutical devices—such as fluid-handling hubs, laboratory glassware, and robots—its design reimagines these technologies in the form of a sculptural lighting fixture. A precise mechanism allows users to adjust the light intensity in a fluid motion, reminiscent of using a syringe.

Crafted from advanced materials using state-of-the-art machinery and then manually assembled, Æther brings high-end technology and engineering into the realm of everyday objects, serving as a statement of industrial craftsmanship. Each fragment is a modular unit that can be combined to form a larger hexagonal chandelier.

Théophile Blandet is a French artist and designer based in the Netherlands. Working at the intersection of pop culture and craftsmanship, he explores functionality and abstraction through “infra-ordinary” objects that defy categorization.
