The exhibition 'A Spring of Hope, A Winter of Despair,' curated by Olivia Nițiș, will debut at Faber in Timișoara, showcasing for the first time the works of 17 Romanian and Czech artists. It creates a context for observations and reflections on a particular segment of the conceptual art of the 1970s and 1980s in the former Socialist Republic of Romania and Czechoslovakia as well as în the period following the fall of the Iron Curtain.

📌 Timișoara, Hala Faber
🗓️ Period: May 11-30, 2024
⏰ Visiting hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 12:00 – 20:00 (closed on Monday)

🗺️ After its presentation in Timișoara, the exhibition will travel to Prague, where it will be on display at the Pragovka Gallery from June 6 to August 29.

Through a selection of conceptual artworks and a series of film screenings, the exhibition illustrates the practice of hope, the complex representation of human conflicts, despair, resistance, and survival in various forms of political regimes - from totalitarianism to capitalism.
