As part of the "Mame cu brațele goale" project, between October 10-12, 2022, a series of events will take place at Faber (Splaiul Peneș Curcanul 4-5, Timișoara) that bring to the fore the less visible part of the motherhood journey.

Monday, October 10, 7:00 p.m. - the opening of the photo exhibition "Mame cu brațele goale" by the visual artist Camelia Popescu. The exhibition includes 20 photographs of women dressed in black, who are not assigned an identity. Women hold various flowers in their arms, next to their bellies, as a symbol of ephemerality, loss, eternity. Each of the 20 photos is accompanied by texts corresponding to a week of pregnancy in which the respective mothers lost the pregnancy. The exhibition space becomes the stage for the interpretive reading of the life stories of mothers with bare arms. With the participation of the actress Ana-Maria Ursu.

Tuesday, October 11, 18.00-20.00 - "Dans cu brațele goale" - movement workshop led by the artist Livia Mateiaș. Starting from the photographs and stories in the exhibition, the artist invites you to a deep connection with your bodies and heart, with creative energy and with the womb in a dance of understanding, recognition and liberation.

Wednesday, October 12, 18.00-21.00 - "Deep listening and nonviolent communication workshop" facilitated by Iunia Pașca and Daniela Doru. Most of the time, our relationships suffer because we haven't learned how to communicate with each other in a way where we can truly feel heard and seen and can give each other a safe space in our relationship.

The events are free to attend, are aimed at adults and are open to anyone who empathizes with the subject.

The "Mame cu brațele goale" project speaks in the public space about pregnancy loss, starting from the acute need for this topic to overcome its taboo status, and for the mourning associated with pregnancy loss to be respected and accompanied by the community. This project started in September 2021 as an artistic, educational and social project. During this time, she collected more than 100 stories received from mothers from all over the country and beyond, created support groups for mothers and debates with medical professionals on the topic of communication and emotional support related to this painful event.

The project is carried out under the umbrella of the Sinaptica Mehedinți Association and is sponsored by: Fabrica de Anvelope Continental Timșoara, Unifiedpost Group, Bintek Remarketing and [E-spres-oh].
