Together, for the long run!

AZUR – a century of chemistry, community, and neighborhood alongside FABER

AZUR is one of the oldest and most representative chemical companies in Timișoara, with a history dating back to 1923, right on the industrial site where FABER is located today. It was here, on Splaiul Peneș Curcanul, that the Farber family business was founded, quickly becoming a landmark of the city. In its early decades, AZUR produced soaps, detergents, paints, varnishes, resins, and candles, and the factory remains to this day a witness to Timișoara’s industrial and social transformations.

After the 1970s, operations moved to the Buziașului industrial platform, but the spirit of the place remained strong. Over the last few decades, AZUR has redefined its role in the industry, evolving from oils and soaps to paints, and later to synthetic resins—a field where it now has an international impact, exporting products used in the metal packaging industry and specialized industrial niches.

For us at FABER, AZUR is more than just a historical name—they are our next-door neighbor and a partner we truly value. We share the same industrial site and the same history, and our collaboration has evolved over time into a solid framework for mutual development.

We have built an important part of the FABER courtyard together, opened spaces for exhibitions and events, and worked side-by-side to transform the former industrial site into a vibrant place dedicated to the creative community. Their involvement in the Chemical Bonds project, and the openness with which they have shared stories, materials, and people, make a simple truth visible: AZUR remains a vital pillar of the area, not only through its industry but also through the way it connects with the community.

Our partnership with AZUR is a long-standing one, born from our proximity, solidified through collaboration, and built on mutual respect. We are honored to have them by our side in our mission to continue transforming this place of rich heritage into a space relevant for both the present and the future.

Spaces developed in partnership with AZUR:

Banca Transilvania – a trusted partner in the development of the FABER cultural program since 2023.

Banca Transilvania is one of the partners that have decisively contributed to the consolidation and expansion of the FABER cultural program, joining us in 2023 at a pivotal moment in our evolution as a creative, educational, and community hub. BT's presence in the FABER ecosystem is defined by a shared vision: that social responsibility and community involvement are fundamental to fostering a healthy and vibrant cultural environment.

For Banca Transilvania, social involvement means responsibility, transparency, and a genuine desire to contribute to the well-being of the communities they are part of. This philosophy has translated into real, consistent, and deeply meaningful support for FABER, which has allowed us to create new contexts for connection, experimentation, dialogue, and cultural production.

Since 2023, BT has become an essential supporter of our cultural program, contributing to the development of projects that bring together design, art, technology, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. With their help, we have managed to expand our curatorial activities, provide artists and designers with a stronger framework for production, and build events that address themes relevant to both the creative community and the city.

The support from Banca Transilvania is reflected in the quality of our programming, the continuity of our projects, and our ability to bring together professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and the general public around topics that shape the future. From exhibitions and artist residencies to educational events, conferences, and networking opportunities across industries, BT has made it possible to foster an environment where ideas can grow and generate impact.

Iată traducerea textului, adaptată pentru a sublinia importanța strategică a parteneriatului:„For FABER, Banca Transilvania is not just a sponsor, but a strategic partner, active and deeply involved. Their contribution goes beyond financial support: it is an investment in the community, in creativity, in the cultural economy, and in the collaborative potential of Timișoara. The fact that a financial institution with the visibility and stability of BT has chosen to stand with us confirms the value of our endeavor and the importance of a model where culture, education, and economy meet to build shared resources.

We are grateful for this collaboration and proud to have Banca Transilvania as a partner in our mission to develop an active, relevant, and sustainable cultural ecosystem.

Hamilton Central Europe – a partner in innovation, education, and experimental design at FABER.

Hamilton Central Europe is one of the leading technology players in Timișoara, part of the international Hamilton group—a global leader in automation systems, laboratory instruments, process sensors, and precision equipment used in biotechnology, research, and industry. With a tradition spanning over 60 years globally and a significant presence in Europe, Hamilton develops high-precision components, analytical instrumentation assemblies, and advanced technologies in Timișoara that support laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and research centers worldwide.

The partnership between FABER and Hamilton Central Europe emerged naturally from a shared vision regarding interdisciplinary innovation and the essential role that creativity, technology, and education play when brought together. From this collaboration, the Hamilton Ideation Room was born—a space developed with the company’s direct support, designed as an idea laboratory and a place dedicated to experimentation, prototyping, and exploratory activities. It hosts workshops, research sessions, concept testing, and meetings that bring together diverse communities—from designers to researchers, and from students to industry professionals.

Hamilton’s involvement, however, extends beyond infrastructure: the company has become a key partner in developing FABER’s projects, supporting forward-looking educational and curatorial processes.

A powerful example is Fluid Dynamics, an interdisciplinary project by designer Theophile Blandet, which emerged from the exhibition Turn Signals – Design is not a Dashboard. Initially presented as a visual investigation into fluid behaviors, data in motion, and the ways invisible processes can be represented, Fluid Dynamics quickly evolved into an emerging research platform. The project explores the interaction between physics, technology, visualization, and aesthetic narratives, using fluid dynamics as a starting point to better understand complex phenomena in nature, science, or industry.

Hamilton’s support was essential, both in the early conceptual stages and in subsequent developments. The company contributed through technical expertise, applied know-how, and a deep understanding of how laboratory instruments, sensors, and measurement technologies can open up new possibilities for visual research and interactive installations. Thanks to them, Fluid Dynamics evolved from an artistic experiment into a project with significant educational and scientific potential, which continues to expand and generate new avenues of work.

For FABER, Hamilton Central Europe is more than just a partner: it is a driving force in the dialogue between industry and culture, a champion of local innovation, and an example of responsible engagement in community development. At every stage of our collaboration, Hamilton confirms the importance of building bridges between different fields to generate results that not only enrich the creative ecosystem but also pave the way for new forms of research and production.
